year 3 days in a row in the company of a large group of nice folks from the School of Cartoon and thank him for leaving me "hosted.
My time was divided in Lucca 2:
- a collaboration as a colorist for the project of David Cappelletti. Designer and librarian of the School of Comics.
- my first book concentrated on the various steps that play in creating a table / illustration.
So as you can guess I am not wanted to present with my projects and be aggressive like "let me do anything that is good." Fortunately I have a comic
future publication in progress so I could not manage another until March 2011. So I proposed a while as a colorist (which is a less intensive commitment of pencils / inks) and in general to hear opinions from publishers and authors.
The response was very encouraging.
My works like ... phrases like "We are in March then!" give me some charge.
I also had some proposals as those for the lower divisions but continuous presence at trade fairs and events.
And all this I took it and put it in my drawer to reopen next year and from which I can draw ...
Ah ... I met again Cebulsky CB, Marvel Editor in Mantua met last year ... I was recognized and it was great.
I also put to the test Cheng.
His table No. 1 has received many compliments.
ok ... It's just a board. But is the concept of the comic and then can give me a value is taken as indicative of the reader.
I had the opportunity to see the other tables in pencil from my laptop to Alex Crippa and boys with the group and I was again very good answer.
closing parenthesis staff want to open a couple other issues.
- The fair itself, I lived with great difficulty. I sat down 3 times in 3 days during the event with a backpack that weighed 200 kg. I spent a sum of money in comics that's cool ... but always an amount of money cock! Sunday it rained and I was a bad mess. And then? ... And then there was a lot of people. Which is fine because it is people who buy comic books ... but not really bear arrive after 3 days.
- and closes with a consideration Lucca up for an author who is emerging. It 's a mess.
Competition is intense and comes from all over Italy. The editors are tired because of the fair and online portfolio have a major advantage because it is seen calmly and in advance. In addition, there were few publishers in the meetings that she's emerging authors to publish. Speaking privately with one of those meetings that were scheduled to come out until 2012 will not release anything new. So the meetings were mostly a "you keep an eye" ... for those who were selected. So in my opinion
Lucca for these purposes is not fair better. Publishers
under stress and with a thousand other things to do ... with a thousand authors expectations that will be systematically destroyed ... not an ideal time to search for new recruits since the news were presented simultaneously.
Well ... Lucca is a point of arrival but a point of departure.
All this made me realize even more how lucky I am to have a publisher already.
Lucca now ended and I expect months of hard work but exciting!
